That is a big word to describe something.
A big word with a big meaning and clearly relating to a big relationship. A relationship that has an unfortunate ending. This relationship between PC Jonathan Inglis and his Central Scotland Police Rottie team mate Mac has come to an unfortunate end. Mac had been diagnosed with bone cancer and was put to sleep earlier this month.
Relationships like that between Jonathan and Mac are special. When they end it is sad and very humbling.
I have experienced this at first hand, the death of something this close has a deep and lasting affect on handlers and is a testament to the time, commitment and trust that forms the bond between the two. My sincerest thoughts go to Jonathan and his family for they too will be sad at this loss.
Central Scotland Police has lost an outstanding dog.

One of our dogs died of bone cancer, almost exactly the same thing happened, we thought he had arthritis ‘cos his hips were getting stiffer, in the end he couldn’t walk it would have been cruel to keep him alive. Still miss ‘im though.
It must have brought it all back for you.
*hugs*
How’s your new friend working out? Is he working hard to fill his predecessors (large) shoes?
I am amazed that they found the dog at random and that it then turned into a formidable (and happy) land shark.
Have to feel for the handler and his family – there is a large hole in their lives now.
How sad. It is such a hard thing to do. I had to have that done with my Doberman 3 years ago. That dog was the best dog. I’m sorry for this officer’s loss.
I am PC Jonathan Inglis of Central Scotland Police Dog Section, Mac was my first Police Dog.
I would just like to post this on your web site to thank you all very much on behalf of my family and I for your kind thoughts.
It has been very hard for us all as Mac was such a good dog. In time things will get easier and we always have our memories of him.
Thank-you again.
Jon
Really sorry for your loss, thoughts are with you and yours. Take care
Jon- it’s hard enough losing a pet. I miss my dog Suzy, and it’s been years since she passed.
When the dog has also been your work colleague, when you’ve worked together every day, when you’ve done so much together, it must hurt like mad.
** arm on shoulder **
Be strong, remember the good days.
Firstly its my first post : Excuse my english its not my native tonge. I am very interested yet sad to read about Mac.
Officer Inglis can you please post some tales about Mac’s working days, I have seen his picture and apprehension records from other sites and think he is a sensation, and credit to the bried.
Officer Inglis please please share the wonderful moments you spent working together on the site.
