Police Dog Handlers are frontline officers too.
Katie Johnson, a Police Dog handler from Lancashire Police, was responding to a report of an armed robbery at a pub near Preston. She challenged a gunman and was shot at, sustaining pellet injuries to her leg by what was thought to be a shotgun. Thankfully, her injuries are not life threatening.
Well done Katie, I hope you make a speedy recovery and get yourself back out where you belong and would probably prefer to be.
Itis not just dog handlers, but all frontline Police Officers, who face this type of risk on a daily basis.
